Welcome and Namaste!

This website represents the Nepalese community residing in Ottawa, Canada's National Capital Region and also provides information on the assistance offered to the visitors and immigrants from the Nepalese perspective.

Food Drive

NCAO members volunteer for the Ottawa Food Bank by collecting non-perishable food items along with cash and cheque donations from different neighborhoods and businesses in Ottawa during June-July. Food drive kicks off with door-to-door food collection, mostly by its youth. The Ottawa Food Bank provides 43,000 people each month with emergency food assistance, 40% of whom are children.

NCAO's annual food drive concludes with a multi-cultural dance and music show involving other communities from various backgrounds. Apart from being free and open to general public, this event also offers an excellent opportunity for new immigrants and their children to develop valuable skills in the areas of volunteering, leadership, communication, performing arts, fund raising, and collaboration with different groups and businesses.

A-Channel has been media partner in the past events hosted by renowned TV personalities Sandra Blaikie, Tony Grace, Alistair McAlistair and Annette Goerner.
